On May 1, 2026 around the fountain at the Tippecanoe County Courthouse, Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jason Biss participated with other community leaders in reading the 2026 Mayoral Proclamation which formally recognizes May as Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental Health Awareness Month highlights the importance of mental well-being through local events, programming, and community outreach to encourage education, support and open dialogue. Mental Health Awareness Month further also aims to reduce stigma, connect residents with resources, and promote healthier communities by emphasizing that mental health is a vital part of overall health.
