On May 22nd, 2026, after previously being found guilty by a jury, the defendant, Lawrence Simpson III, was sentenced to 20 years to include 18 years’ incarceration at the Indiana Department of Correction and 2 years of Probation on three (3) counts of Attempted Aggravated Battery as Level 3 Felonies; one (1) count of Operating a Loaded Machine Gun as a Level 4 Felony; one (1) count of Possession of a Machine Gun as a Level 5 Felony and one (1) count of Criminal Recklessness as a Level 5 Felony.
